We thank, from the bottom of our hearts, the thousands of runners, joggers and walkers who signed up through the years to enjoy our event’s challenging route through Historic Middleburg, the MHS students cheering you on at each turn, the delicious runner’s buffet, the unique cypress knee awards, artwork event shirts and cool race medals.  We congratulate you on being part of a 100% grass roots effort formed due to our love of this community and the people who dedicate their lives to it, especially those in local public safety.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments.

Thank you!

2016 scholarship recipients

Our 1st start in 2012

Official operations of the BCBA will conclude in May 2020 with the final awarding of $10,000 in college scholarships to a group of worthy high school graduates whose applications we’ll receive through March 13, 2020.  Our core group of volunteers, many of whom are retiring and/or moving, committed many hours to this endeavor and know that a positive impact was made.  It is their hope that other community-oriented organizations will step up to provide similar health related events and education assistance in this new decade.

The board members of the Black Creek Bowl Association (BCBA) who coordinate the annual Black Creek 5K/10K & Kids Fun Run in Middleburg are proud of this successful community health event and of the $100,000+ in scholarships and community donations distributed over its eight years of service in Clay County.  Many sponsors gave generously to salute local hero Detective David White and to further youth education through these scholarships. Our small group of volunteers accomplished a great deal, but now enter a time of personal and professional transition that means the 8th annual event held in October 2019 was our last.
